1890 Autograph/Signed Personal Note By Ebenezer Hoar - Here is more legal history. A signed short note by an Attorney General of the US Ebenezer Hoar. It was sent to Edward S. Dodge, Esq.,in Concord, on March 19, 1890. Ebenezer R. Hoar lived from 1816 to 1895). He was a practicing lawyer and was Attorney General of the United States (1869-70) under President Grant. The note was signed "E.R. Hoar" and dated March 19, 1890. It is one page, 5 1/2" x 2 1/2". Concord, Mass, to Edward S. Dodge. "...I should have been happy to pay my respects to Mr.Bassett; but living in Concord, and not often going to Boston, I had read the account of the ceremonies today in the evening newspaper about an hour before the above notice reached me..."
